Our vision is to provide an excellent and accessible housing service to ensure that all members of our community live in accommodation that meets their housing needs.
Onchan District Commissioners own one of the largest social housing stocks on the Island with a stock of 406 general housing units and 100 sheltered housing units.
It is managed like all local authority housing by using the uniform common criteria set out by the Department of Infrastructure, supplemented by local policies where required. The age of the stock varies, but it is all maintained to a high standard to remain an economic and affordable home for our tenants.
Onchan also has two complexes specifically for older or less able tenants with a total of 100 apartments specifically reserved for those who find it difficult to maintain their own home, but still wish to lead an independent life.
