On Friday 2nd August 2024 Onchan District Commissioners hosted a civic event to celebrate Doug Porter's service in the Royal British Legion, Onchan Branch.
Mr. Porter who served in the military police at RAF Jurby was presented with a silver salver celebrating his 30 years of service in a range of roles within the Branch.
The presentation was made by the Chair of Onchan District Commissioners, Miss Zara Lewin in front of Mr. Porter's wife Pauline, his family, friends, and representatives from the Branch.
Mr. Porter who held the Branch's standard for 22 years retired from the role this year after the D-Day 80th anniversary remembrance service but still continues to support the Branch.
