The next Local Authority General Election is due to take place on Thursday 24 April 2025. - Election Timetable
Local Authority General Elections take place on the 4th Thursday in April every 4 years. The Cabinet Office will publish a notice of election, which will highlight the number of Commissioners or Councillors required in each Local Authority District or Ward. The notice of election will also set out the deadline dates people need to be aware of if intending to apply for a postal or proxy vote.
